How to Update

This update requires your Mate 7 to be running the B326 Lollipop firmware with stock recovery and unmodified System partition.

Installation Procedure

Before you apply this update verify that your P8 Lite is currently on the European C432B188 Lollipop firmware and does not have root and/or custom recovery installed.

Disclaimer: This update is currently in beta phase. It may contain bugs that can affect the phone’s stability causing random reboots, broken apps and rarely data loss. You proceed entirely at your own risk!

1. Download the Zip package and name it as update.zip.
2. Transfer update.zip to your phone’s external microSD card – into a folder named ‘dload’.
3. Take a backup of your important data and apps using the Backup & Restore app.
4. Unplug the USB cable and open Updater app.
5. Go to Menu > Local update, select the OTA package and install it.
6. Your P8 Lite will automatically boot into the recovery, flash the update and then reboot afterwards.

Installation Instructions

This OTA will work on the Single SIM Huawei P8 Lite (L21) only that’s already running the B171 Lollipop firmware. The device should not be rooted and the stock recovery needs to be intact.

Warning: This beta firmware contains bugs and partially working features. So it is recommended that you take a full backup of your stuff to avoid any unwanted issues.

1. Download the ‘update.zip’ package from the link mentioned above.
2. Create a new folder ‘dload’ in the top-level directory of your phone’s external microSD card.
3. Copy the OTA package to this newly created dload directory.
4. Monitor the progress of the transfer and then safely disconnect the USB cable.
5. Open Updater app and perform Local update from menu.

How to Update

Compatibility: Make sure you install this update on the European Huawei P8 (L09) variant only, otherwise you’re going to end up with your phone stuck in bootloop.

Step 1: Download “GRA-L09_C432B317_____Android6.0_EMUI4.0.zip” from the above-mentioned mirror and extract its contents.

Step 2: Now transfer the resulting dload folder to your P8’s microSD card.

Step 3: [Optional] Take a full backup of your important stuff using HiSuite or Huawei’s native backup utility.

Step 4: When the transfer completes, unplug the USB cable and turn your phone off.

Step 5: Press & hold Vol up + Vol down + Power for a few seconds. Release the keys as soon as the upgrade kicks off.
